Preparing a trip to Japan

Next week I am going to a destination that I humbly consider exotic and that has been on my list of Countries I want to visit before I die For years: Japan.

Below is a list of possible sites to visit. It is not a closed and inflexible list, it comes from my review of the Amazon Lonely Planet that came to me a few weeks ago and admits changes, with casualties and additions:

Hiroshima
Izumu
Kurashiki
Himeji
Osaka
Kyoto
Nara
Kinosaki
Izu-shoto
Nikko
Tokyo
Mt. Fuji
Takayama
Matsumoto-jo
Shirakawa-go
Matsushima

As far as I know, in winter there is really snow in the North and since I don't practice skiing or snowboarding, that limits my movements (or gives me more freedom of movement, as you look at it).

What do you think the list? Do youLack something I should not miss? Have i included anything Not essensial for a first visit? I am one of those who prefer not to cover much because then you lose things, if that serves as a clue when responding. And it is only a draft, if in the end I spend the night in 10 or 12 places but I make 20 or 25 visits (days / towns) because I already feel satisfied.

多くのおかげで!!
