India The sacred lake of Pushkar

Pushkar is located in a dry valley surrounded by rocky hills with spectacular views of the desert at sunset. The lake in its heart, with innumerable ghats, is one of the most sacred in the country.

We found the hotel by the lake where I raised the budget to the “whopping” of 2 euros for a spacious room with double bed, beautiful windows and a terrace with restaurant and magnificent views of the lake and the city.

Not surprisingly, the hotel is called Lake View. I needed a quiet place to rest from so much stress and heat and Pushkar, although perhaps too tuiristic, seems ideal as a relaxing summer house for three or four days with my new English friends.
