How is this situation affecting tourism? Well, the tourist usually stands out for living in his own world and not being aware of what is happening around him, that's why he is lost and robbed frequently. Khao San backpackers continue their normal life: they eat Pad Thai and drink beer outside the reality of the city they are in. Several bombs have exploded this month in the city and we have had two consecutive weekends with protests (one of them with activists pouring bottles with their own blood on the walls of the Prime Minister's residence). Any tourist will tell you that nothing happens here, that it is safe, but in the streets they are beginning to talk about a civil war.
