An ugly style of adding service to restaurant bills is becoming fashionable in the United Kingdom. You can see in this recent account of a restaurant in Cardiff how secretly they added a “optional service”From 10% to the total bill.

The first thing you see in the account is the final price and choose to leave some euro or extra pound if you liked the service. As a general rule, people do not usually look in detail at what they are charging us.

With this tactic, they put us 10% more and I am sure that the clueless will still add one more tip when they think that it is not included.

We talked to the waitress and she told us that the client, as is evident, you are not obligated to pay That 10% optional. In that particular restaurant, the optional service is collected among all customers and goes to a common fund that is distributed between waiters and chefs. Any tip you leave too much goes directly to the waiter who has served you.

So you already know. If you travel to United Kingdom Soon, take a good look at your account before taking out your wallet!
